​When we think about CSEP, two images come to mind. 

The first is the CSEP train. CSEP is a movement with well-defined goals. It is headed in the direction of every US state and every country. Students onboard the CSEP train help to improve scientific literacy at every stop the train makes.

The second image is the Clubhouse. A clubhouse is a gathering place for like-minded individuals. It provides an atmosphere that encourages collaboration, discussion and celebration. CSEP celebrates junior scientists and is different from your usual science organization or science education group in that CSEP was created and founded by middle school students!!!

​Although the actual CSEP Program Membership Agreement looks a bit different from what's pictured on the right, you can easily see the four main actions necessary for you to become a member of CSEP. Contact CSEP Coordinator, Vicky Gorman at vgorman@medford.k12.nj.us ​to request actual agreement and a link to a short CSEP interest survey.

HOW TO join

So, how do you join this movement of “Students Making a Difference?” Educators will do the following.
  1. Read all about CSEP on this website, www.csepcentral.org, and watch the below video with your students.
  2. When you decide to become a CSEP school (and we hope you will!), contact CSEP Coordinator, Vicky Gorman at the following email address: vgorman@medford.k12.nj.us​ ​ ​    
  3. She will send you the CSEP Program Membership Agreement. Sign and return. She will also send you the link to a quick survey. Please complete.
  4. After doing 1 - 3, you are now ready to affect scientific literacy change on the world!!!

help us reach our goal

​Schools across the US are joining the CSEP movement. By Year 10 of the program (2022), the goal is to have a least one CSEP school in each state. By Year 12 (2024), we hope to have established a global network of CSEPers. The program is currently designed for middle school. However, there are future plans to include High School and Elementary School students.
